Why Are Happy Easter Ecards Replacing Paper Cards

In reflection to the rapid growth of technology, people are frequently using technology to replace more and more aspects of our social world. Examples of this are all over the place, just take a look at teenagers texting all their friends rather than calling them. Another example is the office, people don’t meet as often as they used tothey use email and webinars etc.
With so much change, it is no surprise that advancements in technology are spilling over to other aspects of our lives including how we express ourselves during festive occasions.
So we can blame technology for the fact that more and more people are now opting to send a happy easter ecard this year rather than the more traditional physical easter card.
So what is a happy easter ecard? It is quite simply an electronic representation of a traditional easter card that you may have received last year. Some happy easter ecards that I’ve seen are simple, whilst others have flashing colours and music.
They’re not all bad though, you can get very creative happy easter ecards if you look around on the internet, some that have moving graphics and sound, and others that contain video. These add a new dynamic to the one dimensional standard paper easter cards that we are used to seeing.
The Demise of the Traditional Easter Ecard
If you always send your mom or partner a traditional easter card made from paper, then making the transition to an ecard can be a bumpy road. Many people still like to get stuff in the mail and delight in the time and effort taken for a paper card to be written and sent. These type of people could be offended if you just send them an email with a happy easter ecard attached this year – so be careful.
Anyone that has an email account knows that new emails push older emails downwards in your inbox. Therefore when you receive a happy easter ecard it will most likely be lost in a week or two as new emails come in. Whereas an easter card made from cardboard can be kept out on show and stored in a keepsake box for years.
With an ecard you may also give off the impression that the person does not matter enough to you to send them anything other then a happy easter ecard. This is something that you are going to want to really consider so that you do not accidentally make anyone upset or make hurt feelings.
So if that’s what you want to express to someone then by all means get busy with your mouse. Of course, not everyone who receives a happy easter ecard from you will think like this. Many people will just appreciate the sentiment or will get a good laugh if you have chosen a humorous design. But it needs to be noted that the majority of people still would prefer a physical easter card from you this year.
It is always best to decide who gets an ecard and who gets a regular card on a case-by-case basis so that all goes well for you.
