What to do about getting a “dead leg” when on a long plane journey!

Are you planning on going on a holiday to a far away land? Some of us do like to travel for hours on a plane, but no matter who you are, everyone will at some point experience what I like to call a dead leg. Sometimes it doesn’t even take that long for some people to start getting these blood circulation problems, but everyone experiences “dead leg” at some point.

So here are a few tips to help you recover, or to at least stop it from happening. Although there isn’t all that much room to, you should try walking around a bit. Every hour or so just get and walk up and down the fuselage, the air stewards won’t mind as long as you don’t get in the way of the dreaded trolley. Instead of just sitting down, you can also stand up and stretch a bit, you may get a few funny looks but this is one of the best ways to prevent thrombosis as well.

Muscle relaxants will help a little bit, and even eating some chocolate (in small amounts) can help to relax the body and increase blood flow throughout the entire body. Another tip is, when you are sitting down for so long, try not to cross your legs, this can cause you to inadvertently cut off blood flow to the lower parts of you legs.

Long haul flights can take quite a heavy strain on your body, and another good way to cope is actually to try and get some sleep. Sleep is another option that can work very well, naturally when you sleep the whole body goes into a state of relaxation, you just need to make sure you are in a comfortable position. Sleeping is a great muscle and mind relaxant.

If you’re looking for Las Vegas holidays, you will probably be having a long flight, make sure you get some sleep. New York holidays are very popular holidays, but a long flight is usually quite annoying, just try the above tips.
