Tips To Make Your Kids Get Pleasure From Their Summer

School is out for the summer! How exciting for your children! In some cases, this may be a bit overwhelming for you as you wonder how you will entertain them all summer.
Are you trying to find ways to make sure your kids don’t become couch potatoes this summer? Now that they won’t be in class all day, what will they do? What do they want to do? How will you plan all those activities?
It is true that children should have some educational summertime activities, but it is equally important for them to have some free play time. They should get to have fun. While planning all of those activities and outings, don’t forget to work in some time for them to just play on their own.
Free play time will need to be age appropriate. You’ll also want to consider the level of independence of your children. Your older kids will appreciate having some unsupervised time in their room or in the yard, while your younger kids will most likely need to be more closely supervised.
Be sure to let your kids help decide how days will be spent. A good thing to do is to have a couple of options ready and let them choose one for the day.
Letting your kids participate in the planning of their vacation days will go a long way in obtaining their buy-in.
On some days, you and your kids will both enjoy choosing from a few different options. On other days, you may not be able to do this. There are likely to be days in which you don’t have enough flexibility to let the children make the decision. This is not a problem. Just be very clear with your kids as to whether or not there are choices for the day.
Balancing planned activities with free play time will make for a well balanced summer for your kids!
