The Six Best US Cities For Fine Dining

America has some really good food. There are all different types of cultural influences, depending on area. But what are the best food cities in America. Here is my list with explanations, in no particular order.
New York – Regardless of the type of food you want, it can be had, pretty much at any hour, in New York. Some of the best restaurants in New York include Le Bernardin, Daniel, Per Se and Masa. The city is home to five three star Michelin restaurants, the most of any American city.
Times are tough for the people of the Gulf Coast and it is a shame. My sister went to school in New Orleans and I had the privilege of going down to the city a few times over the past few years. Their Creole-style food is absolutely incredible and there is nothing else like it.
Las Vegas – Most major chefs have realized the potential of Vegas and opened up shop out here. Only in Vegas can you have a world class meal at 3 AM at places like Shibuya and N9NE steakhouse.
San Francisco – SF has become arguably the best food city in the country. In fact, chefs are leaving New York and heading out to San Francisco to open up restaurants. The Tex Mex out here is supposedly outstanding as well.
How does Lobster with lychee, gruyere and vanilla fragrance sound to you? This dish can be had at Chicago’s Alinea, which is arguably the best restaurant in all of the United States. Chicago also has other great restaurants, but the Michelin guide has yet to take notice.
Of course, there is Los Angeles. LA has some great restaurants, but its true strength lies in its sushi. Urasawa is known to have the best fish in the country and chances are the average sushi joint here would be the best in your town.
So this is the list. Notables go to Dallas, Washington and Philadelphia. Sorry Miami, not yet.
