The Romance Of A Vacation Aboard A Luxury Cruise Ship

Come vacation time and you’re thinking: ‘What do we do this time? Where do we go?’ A vacation is supposed to be a time for relaxation, taking a break from everyday hassles and tensions. No doubt you do get a break from ‘everyday’ tensions and hassles. But in practical terms, you’re actually exchanging one set of hassles for another, and I don’t need to elucidate what I mean! You know that much better than I do! Well, now get a real vacation for the whole family and yourself. Book yourself and the family onto a luxury cruise ship and you’ll leave all your troubles and cares behind! Fact!
The fare is all-inclusive and you don’t have to pay any other vacation-related charge while on board. There are two reasonable exceptions: the drinks you consume on board and extra excursions that you make when the ship docks at a port. Apart from these two exceptions, all your meals, entertainment and many other activities all come in the price of the ticket. This is a big relief for many tourists who don’t like unexpected expenses while vacationing.
Cruise ship operators are actually large scale event managers. The whole cruise is a single extended theme-based event. Maybe it is a “Rockin’ Roller” cruise where modern music is the main attraction. Or it could be a “Balmy Bonhomie” cruise meant for families, alumni groups, and groups belonging to particular social clubs. The whole cruise is ‘dressed up’ in the theme from the attendants, the entertainment shows, the activities, to the ship itself. You quickly slip into the mood of the theme and the enjoyment begins!
You have so many avenues of amusement, entertainment or just plain ol’ fashioned relaxation open to you! Swimming pools, covered promenades, courts for games like shuffleboard and squash, reading rooms, beauty salons, spas, gyms, you name it and a courteous attendant will direct you to it. All these facilities are of the highest standard, and nothing short of luxurious. The evening entertainment is usually in the form of events performed on a grand scale by professional troupes. Some of the special guest artistes are specially flown in every day for the evening’s entertainment. After all, they’re called luxury cruise ships!
If you have children, you need not be concerned about how they’ll entertain themselves. Trained staff is on hand to take care of them for you, if you two want to catch up on your close dancing at “The Club”, or if you want to whisper sweet-nothings on the promenade deck ‘neath the silver moon! For bigger children there are so many activities crafted for all tastes and talents that every child will be thoroughly entertained and occupied at the same time.
Let’s talk money. You’ll be pleasantly surprised that contrary to general opinion, these cruises do not require you to have an oil well in Texas to afford one! The cruise operators design the whole cruise in a very professional manner, taking the advice of financial and business experts. So they have “packages” or “plans” which are designed to suit every budget. The packages vary in two different aspects: tour duration, and accommodation. A three-day cruise will be appreciably cheaper than a fortnighter. Similarly, an interior room will be less expensive than a stateroom. Just to put things in perspective, a ‘small’ room on one of these cruise ships is as large as a large hotel room, so you’re not exactly going to get cramps in that ‘small’ room!
Take a vacation, maybe a short three-day cruise around the Bahamas, and luxuriate in first class service, entertainment, and relaxation! Oh, and don’t forget to send Bill Grady a ‘Wish You Were Here’ postcard from Honolulu! On second thoughts, forget him!
