Sights To See And Things To Do On England’s South Coast

There are many incredible places to visit and sights to see on England’s South Coast. But before we get to that, let’s discuss what England’s south coast is comprised of. England’s South Coast is part of Southern England which includes the southern counties of England. The UK considers Southern England to include South West England, South East England, Greater London and the East of England. So now that we know where we are, here are some attractions and places to visit on England’s South Coast:
- Beachy Head: 5km or 3 miles south of Eastbourne is a snowy white cliff at the end of the South Downs. It has popular views and is reached by a lovely footpath. It is known for its striped lighthouse. The cliff path that passes through Cuckmere, Haven and Seaford is 3.5 miles or 6km long and provides a great hiking opportunity.
- Bramber Castle: is on the west side of Bramber village and is an English Heritage property. The ruins of the castle gatehouse are from the original gatehouse built by the Normans.
- The Kent Battle of Britain Museum: can be found in Hawkinge. This is an old armory that features an R.A.F. Room, the Luftwaffe Room, the Aircraft Armaments Room and an art gallery.
- The Eurotunnel is England’s newest and fastest transport system. It crosses under the channel between Folkestone, Kent and Coquelles, France. It was completed im 1994. There is a visitor center in Folkestone and The Exhibition Centre in Cheriton, near Folkestone. The Exhibition Centre is dedicated to the construction of the Eurotunnel.
- Borde Hill Gardens: is in Haywards Heath in Sussex. It’s 200 acres of woods and parkland and is a well known botanical garden. It is famous for its year-long displays of colour.
- Romney Marsh: extending from Hythe along the coast, is the beginning of almost 50,000 acres of area devoted mainly to the growing of flowers. It is especially beautiful in the spring.
- Mermaid Street: in Rye offers a historical stroll. You will want to see the home of Henry James, who wrote “The Wings of the Dove” and “The Golden Bowl” while living at Lamb House on Mermaid Street. Don’t miss The Mermaid Inn, a 15th century pub distinguished by its reputation as a meeting place of smugglers. And then there’s the Old Hospital, a triple-gabled, half timbered 15th-16th century building.

What To Do Whilst Visiting London, England

Every visitor to London absolutely must see the following sights and attractions whilst staying in the capital city of the UK.
- Big Ben: is actually the nickname of the bell found in the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster. It is the largest chiming clock in the world that has four faces. It ranks third on the list of the largest clock towers in the world that are free standing.
- The Tower of London: is on the north bank of the River Thames and was founded in 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest. William the Conqueror built the White Tower, from which the castle takes its name. It has been used as a prison since 1100. The tower is a series of buildings set within two concentric circles of walls and a moat. The Tower of London is very important to the history of England.
- The London Bridge: spans the River Thames, connecting the City of London to Southwark in central London. Until 1729 it was the only bridge over the downstream of the Thames. The present London Bridge, which opened in 1793, is on the same site as all of the other London Bridges that have spanned the years since 1729.
- The Changing of the Guard: probably the number one tourist attraction in all of London. It was built as the London home of the Duke of Buckingham in 1702. You can visit Buckingham Palace’s state rooms from late July to September. The two groups of infantry and cavalry that guard the royal homes in London are called the Queen’s Guard and the Queen’s Life Guard.
- The London Eye: (or Millennium Wheel) is a huge Ferris wheel (443 feet or 135 metres tall). It is the tallest Ferris wheel in all of Europe and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the UK. You can find it at the western end of Jubilee Gardens on the South Bank of the River Thames in the borough of Lambeth.
- Princess Diana’s Memorial: can be found in the southwest corner of Hyde Park. It was designed to express her love of children. Princess Diana’s Memorial was officially opened in July 2004 by Queen Elizabeth II.
Any visitor to London could be kept busy 24/7 visiting exciting places. The ones mentioned above are just the “tip of the iceberg” of things to do and see when visiting historic London.

Air Canada

In September’37, Air Canada commenced with the name of Trans-Canada Airlines. The first 50 minute flight was on a Lockheed L-10A. It flew from Vancouver to Seattle, carrying some mail and only two people. The airline became popular very soon and Trans-Canada Airlines became Canada’s national airline, by the year’64. Around the same time, it was renamed as Air Canada. In the year’89, Air Canada was privatized. Around the same time, the airlines also took over the Canadian Airlines International.
The airline is today more than 70 years and is largest airline providing passenger service in Canada. It carries approximately 32 million passengers yearly, to 170 varied destinations worldwide. Air Canada ranked as–th among the different airlines worldwide.
Air Canada has a belief that the customers must find the journey convenient and thus, it is the only airline, which provides special flight passes. These flight passes lets the travelers to handle their trip through the Internet. The travelers can obtain these flight passes either as the pre-purchased flight credits, or through a monthly subscription, which lets you enjoy unlimited flights service in some particular sectors.

Although Air Canada is one of the world’s largest airlines, it still needs the help of other airlines to provide its passengers with a suitably extensive network of destinations.
