A Guide to Vacation Cruises

Article by Karan Naidoo

There might not be a better word out there than vacations. Everyone likes vacations. Vacations mean a break from the routine, a break from the work place, a break from school, a break from your normal lives. Easily my favorite option for a vacation are vacation cruises. Vacation cruises have such a variety of options, destinations and time lengths that virtually anyone can enjoy the pleasures of vacation cruises.

Vacation cruises encompesses a variety of different nautical excursions. In general, though vacation cruises are characterized by a large ship that makes a tour of a general water area. It makes stops a variety of ports along the way, finishing back at the launching point. The cruise ship itself is lavishly appointed and really is like a luxury hotel on the sea.

It includes a variety of cabins and suites to sleep, decktop pools and sun-bathing areas. Many cruise ships offer all sorts of different amenities depending on your budget. It’s pretty much standard to expect restaurants and bars on any of your vacation cruises, but some will include such attractions as rock-climbing walls, athletic facilities, spas and salons, even an ice-skating rink!

There’s hardly anyway in the world that doesn’t offer some sort of vacation cruises. The three most popular destination for vacation cruises seem to be the Caribbean Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the coastline of Alaska. These three different locations for vacation cruises offer completely different experiences. The Mediterranean vacation cruises will tour some of the most popular locations along the coasts of southern Europe, northern Africa, and the Middle East.

This creates a mix of historical tourism and plenty of warm beaches and picturesque vistas. A Caribbean Sea cruise is similiar in climate, but offers even more in beaches and tropical destinations as the vacation cruises travel between the dozens of islands in the Caribbean. Finally, Alaskan cruises allow people the opportunity to whale-watch and offer some of the most beautiful and haunting views of ice-capped mountains and breath-taking glaciers.

Vacation cruises are the only option out there where you can both travel and relax. You move from attraction to attraction within the comforts of a stylish and comfortable cruise ship – it’d be like staying the night in a four star hotel, but waking up in a new and exciting city, beach or tourist attraction each morning. No matter what sort of vacation you’re looking for, there are vacation cruises out there for you!

Discount Cruise Holidays Offer Meals To Remember

Whether you’re looking for cheap cruises or a no expense spared trip of a lifetime, you’ll get totally swept up in the luxury lifestyle on board. You can expect outstanding service whether you’ve ordered room service, popped in for a light bite in a bistro, or found yourself at the captain’s table.

Cruise ships offer first rate service across the facilities on board, and this extends into the dining rooms as well, where the quality of the food is excellent.

If you’re into sailing with style, some cruises still have occasional formal dinners to give you a real luxury experience, with guests encouraged to dress up in their finest and fanciest. Overall, though, the selection is varied. You’ll find everything on board from retro 1950′s diners to Italian silver service, ice cream parlours to steakhouses, and everything else in between. If you thought the tough decision was choosing which ship to sail on, then just wait until you have to pick somewhere for dinner!

It is recommended that you book for a sit-down dinner, as there are two serving times, one early and one late. The first sitting is around 6pm and the late is about 8pm, so that everyone can choose when they want to eat. Families might prefer an early sitting, while those who are in no hurry to bring their evening to a close might wait until the later meal time.

With evening entertainment and exciting on-board nightlife, it’s worth considering that an earlier meal will leave you with more of the evening ahead of you to make the most of the shows on offer. If you’re traveling with a group of friends, your whole family, or dining with friends you’ve met on board, then there are also options to book large communal tables at dinner too. Tables for two are usually the quickest to be snapped up, so make sure you book early if you’re hoping to enjoy a quiet intimate meal. Enjoying a discount cruise is all about making the most of your time on board.
