Don’t Lose Your Luggage On Holiday And Vacation Flights
March 9th, 2010 by Dorothy Yamich, under Uncategorized. No Comments
Whether you take air flights for business, or holidays and vacations, you have probably lost luggage or know of a person that has. Here are some travel tips that may help you prevent this happening.
It’s estimated that there are more than a million bags that are lost by the airlines each year in the U.S. alone. How many get lost in the whole world is anyone’s guess. Here are a few tips that may help you recover your bags if they should they get lost.
Attach a couple of tags with your name, home address, and phone number to the handle and zipper-pulls of every bag that you are checking. There’s less of a chance that every tag could get torn off when in transit. Make sure that you’ve taken off any old airline tags that are still on your luggage as they could confuse the baggage handlers.
Be sure to place the same contact information, including a copy of your itinerary and your destination address inside each piece luggage. That way, if they do get lost and are found in time, they could be forwarded to your hotel.
Pick luggage with preferably a bright or odd color that will stand out among all black and brown bags. Know which brand name of the luggage that you are using and attach a small colorful scarf or ribbon to the handle to make identification easier. Stick decals or a contrasting colored tape to each side of the bags so they are easier to find as it goes around the carousel. Remember these details, or better still, take a digital photo of your luggage just before you go and bring it with you. This will help the lost luggage staff at the airport locate your bags if they get lost in transit and turn up at their office. It will also help if you do have to make a claim.
It can help if you make a list of what you have in your luggage and carry that list in you carry-on bag. The chance of your checked luggage getting lost in transit increases when you have delayed, or connecting flights. Pack your valuables, including your laptop or Blackberry, travel documents, prescriptions, etc., in your carry-on luggage. It’s best to pack only the things you can afford to lose in your checked baggage. Analysts believe the airline industry’s problem of lost luggage is not going to go away anytime soon.
What should you do your luggage gets lost?
Go immediately to the baggage claim office and file a claim. Many airlines have a twenty-four hour window of time starting from when your flight arrives to file and be eligible for compensation. You will receive a claim receipt to check the tracking of your luggage with the airline by phone, or on the airline’s website. Make sure you keep all your flight documents until the lost luggage problem is resolved.
How can you guarantee that the airlines won’t lose your luggage?
There are a number of companies like FedEx, DHL, or UPS, that will send your luggage in the United States, directly to your hotel or destination address for a very reasonable cost. If you are staying in a hotel or resort, your luggage will be taken to your room by a bellboy. When you consider that in the U.S. alone, over a million bags are lost by the airlines each year, this service may be well worth considering. If you are planning to travel by air to and from the countries inside Europe, First Luggage, at First Luggage.com, is one of the companies that can provide this service

Once you are in school learning how to be a pilot you are going to make sure that you are familiar with all the material that is going to be available to you. You are going to hear about a system that is called GPS. You will have to gain the knowledge on how to use this system.
Although you are going to have to know how to use it, it is not going to be something that you will have to use on your test. It may be somewhat strange to you why you have to learn about this system if it is not important enough to be on your test. The whole purpose of learning how to fly is the fact that you need to do it as good as possible, and you must do it in a safe manner for everyone concerned. Thats what the GPS system is all about.
You are going to find when it comes time to learn about the GPS system that there are many varieties that you will be able to learn about, and then you will be able to make your own decision as to which is the best for you. It is going to cost you money initially for this system, and you may be somewhat reluctant to be putting out more money now when you have spent so much on your pilots training.
It’s always a great benefit when you get the chance to try out something before you have to put the money out. If you are keen on looking at the GPS system you may want to check out a training system that is produced by Garmin. By doing this you will become more familiar with the systems and perhaps get to the point where you are use to using them, which will help you make your decision to purchase.
This will not cost you any money, and it actually attaches to your computer. It is a simulator and you will be able to use it whenever you have some extra time. Once you really know what you?re doing with it then you can decide whether you feel it’s going to be beneficial to you to have as a pilot.
One of the things that you must realize. However, that is no piece of equipment can replace the knowledge and the experience that you are going to need to operate your plane. If you are considering buying this nit for that purpose then you would be wise not to waste your money or to place your safety on a piece of equipment. Like any of your equipment, it is there to help you and to make you have a better experience it is not there to replace your knowledge and training.

Sash Window Repair Services in London – Protecting Part Of History
March 7th, 2010 by Nathan William Holding, under Uncategorized. No Comments
It is such a treat when I return to the UK to see the windows which adorn the houses there. I live in darkest Africa and only the oldest, most well preserved houses have these. In my grandmothers’ home in Yorkshire, there were sash windows. Brilliant for letting in lots of light in and otherwise gloomy land! I am sentimental about these windows and sash window repairs in London can maintain and protect the historical integrity of your home.
The buildings of a city tell you so much about it, and replacing or maintaining sash windows is integral to this. My impressions are purely sentimental, being able to reach up and look through a window, even though I was very small and Nana showing me how to open the top with the cord, so I couldn’t fall out, is something I remember.
One of my most poignant, memories of London what driving through Regents park, and not only admiring the buildings, but the windows, “giant” sash windows! They were so impressive that the vision of them is something I will never forget. I am not the only person upon which this impresses.
Many different types of buildings in an around London and other cities, towns and villages in the UK, have sash windows. In the past this was part of typical architecture, so a Cathedral like St. Pauls in London has them, but so too do many domestic housing structures and the houses of Parliament.
Just outside of London in Hillingdon the recently refurbished Burr Hall provides a prime example of how a Victorian building looked in its heyday, and top of the shopping list for the listing council, was to have the sash windows replaced. What was once nearly a ruin has been restored to it former greatness and is now an incredibly beautiful building.
Home and business owners in London can do their bit to preserve these important features of the architecture of this great city, and they will find many repairs and refurbishment companies who are willing to help.
