Hotel stays can prove to be hazardous as you never actually know when you will suffer from health problems or an accident.People generally compare hotels thinking that hotels with better ratings are better hotels.However as this is not always true, you have to follow these tips for your family’s safety.
Carry along a Lysol container so that you can spray Lysol on most of the room.Place emphasis on the parts of the room which you are most likely to touch and have contact with like in the bathroom, remote control and door handles.
Take along flip flops to prevent contact with diseases such as athlete’s foot when walking across unclean bathroom floors. You never know how many people have used the bathroom, and what health problems they may have had.
Check for bed bugs if you stay in cheaper hotels.You may find bed bugs under mattresses. If there are many bugs, get out of the room, get your refund and head for another hotel.Make sure that the bedding is clean and safe enough to sleep, if you find no bed bugs in your room.Ask the maid to change bedding which may have stains and holes.
While staying in hotel rooms with kitchens, it is more hygienic for you to carry along paper plates.It is safer and better to wash their silverware and plates with soap if you want to use them.
Travellers to countries like Mexico are advised to take along a gallon or more of drinking water. This prevents possible contamination through bacteria and diseases in the water.
Before you book hotels, check up on their hotel ratings.You can find out what other travellers think about hotels by checking up on websites like TripAdvisor.com. Hotels with low ratings should be ignored while you check on other places.Consider hotels that have a great review as ideal places to stay in.
