In the country, the Tempe Festival of the Arts is a continuously top-ranking festival. It has received the pinnacle award from the International Festival and Events Association, as well as being granted the honor of being among the 20 by Sunshine Arts. Over the course of a three-day weekend, the spring and fall events reach populations of around 25,000 participants.

Artists of the highest caliber are fundamentally important to the success of the event. Every year, there are over 1,000 hopefuls who apply for a booth across the country. As a juried show, members of the local art community meticulously select the top artisans in every category. On the festival itself, a new set of people act as the jury and then chooses the best overall artist in each of these categories.

Speaking of categories, there will be 18 such categories for judging. It will range from woodwork to photography to ceramics; even wearable art gets a say in the event. There shall be around 400 booths that’ll line Mill Avenue and the surrounding streets, separated into sections that offer unique, handmade works that offer visitors an exciting shopping experience.

Of course, there is a focus on the arts and the artists that create, but the Tempe Festival of Arts, in general, also has a variety of activities for other guests to enjoy. Live entertainment on stage giving musical entertainment will provide festival-goers with a fun time. There have been a number of well-known musician in high spirits throughout the festivals, in fact.

So without further ado, I’ll see you at the Tempe Festival of the Arts! This year, the event will be held on December 4-6; and in each day, the activities start at 10am and end at dusk. It’s still a long ways off, but I hope you mark it off in your calendars so we can have fun!
