Honolulu Nightclubs-These Are The Really Fun Spots

From luscious designer cocktails and microbrews, to themed dance clubs, with vibrant interiors and art events after dark, Honolulu nightclubs are proof that fun in the sun isn’t the only thing Hawaii has to offer.

From hip gathering spots in Chinatown, modern urban venues in well known hotels, upscale national chains and overboard faux tiki bars, a revival is going on in Honolulu nightlife.

There’s a particular draw to a brewpub that pipes more than 100 ice cold beers through five miles of metal tubing. The proof is in the enthusiastic patrons that wait up to an hour every weekend just to get into brew chain Yard’s House on the Waikiki Beachwalk.

You can join in crowds of 20- to 30-somethings trying out sampler packs of six beers, or sip on more than 40 specialty martinis in between tasty appetizers.

A Pau hana hangout

Go to The Rumfire at Sheraton Waikiki, a 7,000 square foot beachfront lounge where you can both see and be seen. This spectacular lounge has been revamped, and its formerly dark interior now features phenomenal floor-to-ceiling views of Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean.

The pau hana (after work) crowd enjoys wallet-friendly happy hour drinks and $6.00 signature cocktails. But when the stars come out, move on to a drinks menu featuring more than 100 types of rum and high-priced high-style cocktails.

The Best of Honolulu Nightclubs

Nominated the best among Honolulu nightclubs, urban-hip Pearl at the Ala Moana Shopping Center has bar areas, private tables and a cocktail menu designed by a Las Vegas master mixologist. If you stay late enough, it changes to a clubbing hotspot until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays.

While its not really considered part of the Honolulu nightclubs scene, ArtafterDark is a world class art and food event that shouldn’t be missed. Hosted by the Honolulu Arts Academy on most final Fridays of the month, recent events have included Tibetan sand painting, miniature Indian paintings, and Bhutanese monk paintings on surfboards!

Do not despair of the early closing hours ? there is always another lively hotspot to hit. High-end wine bars are gaining a stronger footing among Honolulu nightclubs. There are more than 80 wines here to try in Amuse Wine Bar. Guests purchase wine ?credit cards? for use at high-tech carousels which electronically dispense your wine of choice after you have swiped your card. Sunday nights are at a steal when $25 gets you twice as much in vintage blends.

First Fridays in Chinatown

First Fridays in Chinatown are a must see for the Honolulu visitor, when trendy, top of the line art galleries open their doors with a street party for art aficionados. Club goers continue on to Bar 35, where they dine on specialty pizzas and sip designer cocktails, sample beer from around the globe, and taste the best bubbly champagne at indoor or rooftop bars. Patrons enjoy good food, good drink, and live bands and DJs to keep the party going until the early hours.

Another option among popular Honolulu nightclubs in Chinatown is Next Door, a converted warehouse with brick walls and high ceilings resembling a New York loft. Nationally recognized DJs spin hip hop, techno, and house grooves, while visitors enjoy art film screenings during the week.

For those with energy to spare after a day in the sun, Zanzabar plays hip-hop, trance, house, techno and top 40 to meet all tastes. In Egyptian influenced d?cor, the club also offers salsa classes, improv comedy and room enough to fit 800. High on sophistication and variety, Honolulu nightclubs are the real deal.
