When planning a vacation trip to the southern United States, many people from around the world take advantage of the sights and sounds of Savannah, Georgia. As one of the top tourist hot spots in the south, the town has a whole host of attractions to make a small or extended visit worthwhile for all ages. With pristine waterways, beautiful architecture and a rich history, this southern jewel has much to offer.
Savannah has one of the busiest ports in the United States. It runs through the historic district of the city and gives a view of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge. The city also boasts some of the most beautiful park squares in the world. There are 22 parks located in the historic district alone, all sharing a piece of Southern history.
Architecture buffs that visit this fair city will not be disappointed. Many of the churches and synagogues still standing were built in the early 1800′s and have been meticulously maintained to preserve their wonder and beauty.
