Park City Vacation Grocery Delivery Makes Your Ski Trip Better

November 8th, 2009 by , under Vacations. No Comments

The annual ski vacation is a tradition for many families who enjoy the mountains and like to get together with their family in a ski town over the holidays. The ski vacation experience can be something that your kids will remember warmly and once they`re older they may even continue with their own family. But will you have the same warm memories?

By now you`ve reserved your flights with the airline and reserved a great condo close to Park City Mountain Resort in Park City, Utah. Your condo is walking distance to the hill, has a private hot tub, video games for the kids, and a well equipped kitchen. You know the kids will appreciate coming home to delicious snacks and some warm hot coco by the fireplace at the end of each day.

The only thing that might get your ski trip off to a rocky start is an unexpected delay on your day of arrival. Your flights are supposed to arrive in SLC around 1:10PM in the afternoon. If things go as expected you should be able to find your baggage, put the family on the shuttle to Park City, and check in at the property management office. You should be unloading your gear at your rental home by 2:30PM.

After you`ve dropped off the bags, you`re going to take the free shuttle to grab a late lunch and then swing by the equipment rental shop to pick up your ski rentals around 4:00PM. One quick shuttle ride back to the condo to drop of your ski rentals and then its back on the shuttle to do the grocery shopping for the week and handle the all important liquor store run. With a little luck you`ll be back at your condo by 6:30PM or 7:00PM.

You may be able to save some time by calling a cab instead of riding the free shuttle or maybe avoid the cabs and shuttles altogether by renting an SUV, but besides your first day it will most likely stay parked in the garage the rest of the week.

So far so good, but you didn`t anticipate the long delays at the ski rental shop, the grocery store, and the liquor store. It`s as if everyone in town was going to the exact same places you are at the same time! Since the lifts close around 3:30PM the busiest places in town from 4:00PM to 8:00PM are the liquor store, grocery store, and equipment rental shops. Not only are the stores busy during these hours, you`ll usually end up waiting in line for 30 to 60 minutes during the ski season.

Now suppose your hopes for fresh powder materialize as you pull into town. Six inches of fresh pow is great on the mountain but only makes running around town more difficult than it would be otherwise. Add a 2 to 3 hour flight delay, a problem with the rental car company, weather related traffic delay, or tired and fussy children, and you`ll wonder if this ski vacation is your last ski vacation.

It can be somewhat overwhelming, but what if your liquor store items and groceries were already stocked in your rental condo when you walked in? You could fix a quick bite to eat for the kids, and then unwind from your hectic day of traveling. You wouldn`t need to go to the equipment rental shop because you rented through equipment delivery company that drops off your equipment and sizes your boots and sets your bindings right in your condo.

You planned for the unexpected and now even if you experience some of the delays discussed in the article your holiday won`t be bothered. Delivery services like The Grocery Girls www.thegrocerygirls.com will take care of your grocery shopping and liquor store purchases. Ski Butlers www.skibutlers.com will set your family up with ski rentals right at your rental home.

Take 10 or 15 minutes now to make certain that your upcoming Park City ski trip is truly relaxing. Place your order to The Grocery Girls and they will work directly with your condo rental manager to delivery your groceries before you arrive. Your only responsibility now will be answering the door when your ski equipment arrives. Doesn`t this sound like a better way to start off your ski holiday?
