Tourists And San Antonio
September 6th, 2010 by Adam Smith, under Vacations. No Comments
Did you know that not all Cinco de Mayo events are created equal? Its true. The only genuine, and “true to the spirit” events are in border states. My personal favorite city, with the highest number and quality of Cinco de Mayo events is San Antonio. You will be blown away by both the number, and the quality of events that this city offer on May 5th.
Now, if you’re planning to visit San Antonio this year, try to make it coincide with May 5th as you are bound to witness what is almost a miracle of spectacles. The best event in the city is I think the one located at the city’s market square. The residents call it “El Mercado”. There, the food is all high-quality, genuine Mexican food that no sane person can possibly resist. And hey, its not just about food, all the music and performances are right there, as well as vendors for random purchases you might want to make.
Now, there’s more than that! The second event I would guide you to is in fact the one that’s located downtown, at a place known as Plaza Guadalupe. The best part about this event is that you can do it it together with an Alamo visit, since its just walking distance every. The feature of this particular one is the variety of family-friendly activities. Everything from dances to live music and all sorts of things to do. Its probably the most packed of the events.
If you’re of the more artsy persuasion, you will want to see the dance event held by the Ballet Folklorico de Cielo, which is held at the Memorial Library. This at San Antoni’s westside. This actual dancing organization is known all throughout Texas and a few of the neighboring states. Their events are spectacles that nobody can afford to miss.
I know I’m starting to bore you with praising San Antonio right now, but I really mean it. If you haven’t witnessed Cinco de Mayo inside of San Antonio, then you’ve really never witnessed a real Cinco de Mayo celebration. It is here that you can truly feel what the spirit of the holiday is, to the point you will remember and be moved by it, for years to come
Well Now what’s the next thing??? Well you need to book a San Antonio hotel of course right? Well that is true! Here is one that I found through a particular search: San Antonio hotel alamo
Things To Do In San Antonio

I personally, believe that San Antonio is the best tourist location in the united states, but let me try to present some evidence. What can possibly be better than to simply show you all the sights to see, and things to do while you’re here, and why its good for tourists. Now, this isn’t a complete list, just a short preview of my favorites. In fact, there are so many things to do, adventures to be had, and foods to be tasted in San Antonio, that it requires an mini encyclopedia! But that, is work for some other day! I believe in the 90/10 rule, so I will just present to you the 10%, that gives 90% of the fun.
What do you do first when you get here?
By far, the most impressive thing that San Antonio can offer to anyone, is the infamous Alamo. Even people who don’t know anything else about San Antonio, are well aware of the Alamo, and its importance. In fact, its the single most visited tourist site in the USA! But if you don’t yet know what it is, its simply the scene of a historical battle, where a mere few soldiers held back Mexican armies from conquering the place. After a long, hard 10 day bottle, the Alamo was overrun by the Mexicans. The place itself, however, stands as a testament to this perseverance to this day.
My second favorite thing to do, or visit while in San Antonio, would be the zoo. I mean I live here and I have been visiting it frequently for years! Its that good! It never gets old considering the amount of attractions and species present. Its something that also on the “don’t miss” list.
Now, further, there’s a few more sights to see. Another one of my favorites is the Aztec Theater. Its a place where you can witness native, Aztec statues, artifacts and relics. If you’re into ancient and native cultures, you will love this one.
And when you’re done having fun with the rest, its time to chill with the river-walk! Whether you’re into the night-life or lounging around in cafes during the day, the river-walk has you covered! It excels at both, in addition to being great for just taking long strolls.
Now its that very time! You are practically on going to San Antonio. Now all you need to do is to book a san antonio hotel. The key here is to find where you want to be. Which attraction do you like the best?? This will really help you narrow down the options.
