About Flights to St Moritz

A prime example of the traditional ski resort city is St. Moritz. Skiers come to absorb the glamour and culture of the city, which is as vital as the skiing. The flights from the UK and Ireland range in price from 200-300, with Swiss International Airlines offering some of the better fares. While it is encouraged to shop for prices, Lufthansa rates are typically higher but offer flights deparing from London, Heathrow, Manchester, Gatwick, Birmingham and Glascow.
International Travelers travel to St. Moritz via Zurich, which is located about 150 miles from the resort. From there, catch a train from the airport to Church and then transfer for train to St. Moritz. Those, who have money to spare, can chose to take a plane from Zurich to Samden, a local airport near St. Moritz.
Considered the oldest and one of the most famous winter resorts in the world, the only time to visit St. Moritz is ski season, mid-November through April. Youll find the best snow around Christmas, but even better, the sun shines on St. Moritz all year, making for a more pleasant winter holiday. St. Moritz has also been known as a traditional spa town since the Middle Ages.
For skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts of all levels, St. Moritz offers an amazing 80 kilometres of track (piste) length, a total of 88 slopes. With 40 percent of these slopes reserved for experienced skiers, the remaining 60 percent of the slopes are for novices and beginners. With the area being linked to two other ski areas in the region, there is access to an additional 270 km of slope area outside the Ski resort area. The slopes are all connected by 56 lifts. From cross-country routes to a snowboard park, St. Moritz also has the Crest run, a sled racing run which is more than 1,200 metres
If you tire of the slopes, St. Moritz offers plenty of options. Mountain climbing, paragliding, bob sledding, horse races and snow cricket are some of the additional outdoor alternatives. You can also ice skate on the resort lake or snuggle up on a horse-drawn sleigh ride.
Indoors, you can choose from gourmet restaurants, casinos, bars, nightclubs and concert venues. Shop in the glitzy boutiques or experience the culture through the art and folklore museums. Soak in the scenery with a train ride on the luxury Glacier Express or the Berninina Express.
