A Colorado Family Vacation Has Something For Everyone

Many people think of Colorado as a winter vacation wonderland because of the great ski resorts. Internationally known resort areas such as Telluride and Aspen are some of the best places in the world for skiing and snowboarding. Grand Junction is known for the Powderhorn Ski Resort. Colorado ski resorts are family friendly venues with activities for all ages. Cozy ski lodges and grand mountain peaks are characteristics of these scenic destinations. Not only do these destinations offer great winter skiing opportunities, but also these like other Colorado cities and towns are great places to schedule a summer vacation.
Telluride, Grand Junction and Aspen are just a few of the winter destinations that also cater to summer visitors. They plan many special events for families who come on vacation, such as the Aspen Ghost Town or a similar one in Independence. There you and your kids and enjoy a slightly scary look at Colorado’s unique history. You can also tour gold mines and museums if that is what interests you, or you can hike and bike in the mountains to your hearts’ content. There will be plenty of local festivals to enjoy, as well as shops and boutiques where you can get souvenirs. Be sure to pack a sweater, as mountain nights tend to be chilly, which is a welcome relief in the summer. Resort nightlife and food will also be a highlight of your trip.
The Mile High City (Denver) is the perfect destination for families who prefer not to “rough it” outdoors while on vacation. This urban destination has shops galore to satisfy any shopaholic, along with luxurious lodging options that are surrounded by exquisite restaurants, salons and anything else your heart desires. The kids will be excited to visit the Denver Zoo and possibly the Denver Botanic Gardens too. If you can spare the time, be sure to take in the Denver Museum of Nature and Science as well.
Golden Colorado is also an interesting place to visit. The famous Coors Brewery is located in Golden, Colorado along with the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave.
A Colorado family vacation really does offer something for everyone. From the snow lover to the urban fashionista, no one will feel bored when vacationing in Colorado any time of the year.
